private social community
The John Hand Club is Birmingham’s premier city club, a community of professionals who appreciate great taste and good company.
legacy
Celebrating the ambitious spirit of Birmingham.
The club is housed in the top two floors of the historic John Hand building. The property was constructed in 1912 as one of four buildings on the corner of 20th Street and 1st Avenue North, famously known as the “Heaviest Corner on Earth.”
Designed by architect William Leslie Welton, the building was one of the first steel-frame skyscrapers in the south. It even stood as America’s tallest building for a time. Today, it represents Birmingham’s spirit of industry, determination, and progress, a legacy The John Hand Club is proud to carry on.
